Shell wanted to devise a programme to develop the skills and capabilities of some of
its rising stars.
Quo suggested a twin-track programme linking personal development planning with live projects that gave the executives the opportunity to put theory into practice in real time. Concurrently, we grounded performance development in the context of a 360 degree look at the executives in their whole life, not just their business life, and the individual ways in which they could make their contribution.
Over a period of nine months Quo worked on a one-to-one basis, focusing a creatively developed programme on real business issues and learning by “learning by doing”. Results have been highly positive; SMART action plans have helped the executives develop their performance, self-esteem and confidence, while at the same time the projects they completed as part of the coaching have saved the business several millions of pounds in increased efficiency savings.
