Given the usual constraints of cost and time, large-scale assessment interviewing is usually fairly standardised and delivers a “broad brush” understanding of individual potential. A common overall standard “score” for successful applicants is identified.
The difficulty with this approach is that it can often deliver successful applicants who are merely average, scoring reasonably on a range of measures but not outstanding in any.
In the real world, applicants aren’t average, they are individuals. Widely different combinations of aptitudes can be associated with similarly high levels of performance; in other words there can be several routes to success - of which being average isn’t necessarily one!
The ProtoCall approach gets round this issue with interviews that allow an unprecedented level of tailoring for each individual candidate, delivering a greater depth of understanding and insight on their potential. At the heart of the system is a powerful algorithm that adjusts the order and nature of questioning based on answers given as the interview progresses. Each interview is therefore unique and precisely tailored to the individual.
So while ProtoCall delivers all the necessary standard performance measures, it also brings a new level of insight into individual candidates and hence increased chances of finding truly high-performing individuals.
